CMS updates Special Focus Facility Program (SFF)

The October 21, 2022 update to the CMS QSO 23-01-NH, which outlines the updated guidance for providers who participate in the Special Focus Facility program (SFF), comes as no surprise as the Biden-Harris administration clamp down on safety and quality in nursing homes across the nation. For facilities that continue to struggle with delivering safe, quality care, these changes may have a catastrophic effect on their ability to continue to operate or provide a much-needed service in their respective communities.
